For the 'Strange but True' project brief, we had to make a documentary. This was easier for filmakers than animators, but I decided to do it anyways. This is about why there are no pigeons in Trafalgar Square any more.

I was sent some really nice origami paper from Japan. I can fold up the plain sheets that only have one colour on them, but I feel as though folding the patterned ones is some kind of heresy. ^___^

Sketch : Clasped ( Lily & James ) Materials : Pencil lines on paper, coloured in Photoshop 7.0 Rated : G
Lily and James are distracted, from each other by other things, or from other things by each other?
I'm not too sure about the logistics of the hands, but I like how it seems as though they've reached for each other almost absent-mindedly. Also, I think there's too much of a height difference for them to properly interlock fingers and all that mush. ^___^

Art Sculpture : Cacoon Materials : Cartridge paper, thread, clothes hangers, club flyers Rated : G A final sculpture for the '3 Legs Good, 2 Legs Bad' project. When we had our crit, the group didn't quite know what to think about it. Some people thought it was calming and reassuring, others found it unnerving and weird. They didn't know whether or not the two components should be considered as one piece. People said it reminded them of clouds over a city, a chemisty lab experiment, a searchlight or Big Brother in society. As people were leaving, I offered them a box from the ground to take home with them.

Stop motion means taking a photograph, moving your subject, taking another photo, moving it again ... This film used 501 photographs at about 5 frames a second. It was also my first time using an Apple Mac and I now feel enlightened. Note for future use : Next animation must be on a tabletop so my knees don't get so sore.
P.S. There is sound, but it's very quiet so turn up your speakers ^_^
